Welcome to day 5 of Older Adult Mental Health Awareness Week!

Today we want to raise awareness of the mental helath consequences of elder abuse on an ageing global population.

We begin with a video on elder abuse.  Mick Gooda, descendant of the Gangulu people of Central Queensland, and the former Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner of the Australian Human Rights Commission, shows us how Australian First Nations peoples lead the way in understanding the true and respectful use of the word "elder" as well as promoting awareness-raising about abuse of older Australians.
